Henry Rogers, Managing Principal
Henry founded the Grey Pine Group to help organizations thrive and successfully adapt in today’s rapidly evolving business environment. He brings nearly two decades of public policy experience and understands how to build powerful impact from the ground up. He is personally involved in every aspect of servicing Grey Pine’s clients and likes to think of himself as a seamless extension of each client’s team. He is known as an honest and trusted advisor to both clients and policymakers, and is committed to encouraging transparent communication at all levels.
After having spent nearly a decade in the public sector working at the local, state and federal levels of government, Henry brings extensive experience and a unique perspective to the table. He began his career as a senior staffer supporting elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels, on both sides of the aisle. Drawing on an in-depth understanding of California policy and politics, Henry’s experience has proven invaluable to his clients over the years.
Prior to launching Grey Pine Group, Henry was Founding Partner at PEAR Strategies, a public affairs and association management firm based in Long Beach. PEAR’s diverse client base included trade associations, as well as public and private sector organizations. Under Henry’s leadership, PEAR successfully helped manage and grow dozens of enterprises throughout the state of California.
Henry earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Redlands, and an undergraduate degree in Economics from San Diego State University. He also holds a Project Management certification from the University of California at Davis, bringing meticulous organization and structure to the projects he manages. His academic and professional background enables him to strategically connect your public affairs needs to your bottom line. Henry resides in Long Beach with his wife and two children, and enjoys cycling, running, and golf.
McKenna Kurz, Office Administrator
McKenna is a California native with a passion for supporting her community. She brings a breath of problem-solving, organizational, and analytical expertise to our firm. McKenna supports operations and special events for the Grey Pine Group, with a focus on administrative functions to support our daily operations.In this role, she ensures the smooth operation of the firm with her office management experience and servicing of client inquiries. McKenna also manages event planning and execution, producing events of all sizes for the firm and our clients.
McKenna earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, from California State University, Fullerton. In addition to her administrative experience, she is passionate about serving to improve the mental health needs of her community. McKenna is knowledgeable and has professional certifications in mental health disorders and crises. She has spent time volunteering for mental health hotlines and rehabilitation centers.
When not working, McKenna enjoys spending time traveling to new and cherished destinations, trying new foods, and hiking California’s coastlines.
